New Chef Arrives at Blowing Rock Dining Institution
Crippen\'s Country Inn and Restaurant in Blowing Rock, North Carolina celebrates the arrival of their new executive chef, Stan Chamberlain, to the highly acclaimed and first fine dining restaurant in the area. Founded in 1994 by Jimmy Crippen, Crippen\'s Country Inn and Restaurant is an anchor on every list of High Country must-taste dining destinations and continues to serve visitors and locals alike in this charming wood-shingled inn in the heart of Blowing Rock.
Chef Stan was born in Asheville, North Carolina and grew up helping out at his family's business, Bill Stanley's Barbecue and Bluegrass. After graduating from Appalachian State University, Chef Stan followed his heart and the call of the kitchen with stints at Crippen's Country Inn and Restaurant and Storie Street Grille in Blowing Rock and Morels in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Now, Chef Stan assumes the executive chef position at Crippen's bringing his fresh, innovative approaches to his mostly Southern repertoire. He prefers to let quality ingredients determine the tempo of the eclectic, ever-changing menu so don't be surprised to find something as unique as seared Hudson Valley foie gras with caramelized South Carolina peaches.
The restaurant, bar and lounge were recently renovated and outdoor dining space was expanded this summer and owner Jimmy Crippen looks forward to welcoming you for lunch or dinner daily.
